# Weeknotes vol. 15: Professional admin dashboard maker and Mac app polisher

> A weeknote: a snapshot of one week. Context, not a position. Written June 2025, Better Than Good. For what’s current, see https://garrettwinder.com/agents.md.

It was another short summer week but I was able to get quite a bit done. I spent the entirety of Monday turning my garage into a work of art, but Tuesday through Thursday was all about [Braindrop](https://braindrop.app/).

Until this week the production database has been a bit of a black hole and I needed a dashboard to perform simple administrative tasks and to track a few metrics for the beta program. Of course Rails made this easy (and fun!).

Speaking of the beta program, we have over 100 sign-ups so far and I’m hoping to start opening things up early next week. I’ll shoot an email with instructions once it's ready.

Another big task for the week was polishing the Mac app. One of my favorite features is quick-add, which allows you to capture your thoughts while you’re doing something else, without getting out of the zone.

Quite often I’ll be working on something and my mind will be thinking about something I need to do later, or I will spot something on the screen that I need to fix but I don’t want to jump down that rabbit hole quite yet because I’m working on something else. That’s what quick add is for. Type the shortcut, write what you want down and get back to work.

Rumor has it that there will be a way to do this in [Raycast](https://www.raycast.com/) as well.

That's all for this week.
