# Writing: GANDR Web Design

From GANDR, the web company I started in college with my roommate, going door to door in Abilene, Texas.

- [Generating share links in your ExpressionEngine templates](https://garrettwinder.com/gandrwebdesign/generating-share-links-in-your-expressionengine-templates.md) (2010-12-06): Making custom links for sharing content is always an annoying process. Go to each service you need, try and figure out how to pass information to it via a URL. Rinse, lather, repeat.
- [ExpressionEngine short URLs](https://garrettwinder.com/gandrwebdesign/expressionengine-short-urls.md) (2010-12-05): When I was making my site I wanted to be able to have short urls to post to Twitter, etc. without having to deal with the hassle of buying another domain name.
- [ExpressionEngine 2 TextMate bundle](https://garrettwinder.com/gandrwebdesign/expressionengine-2-textmate-bundle.md) (2010-11-13): I went ahead and took the liberty of updating Chris Ruzin's wonderful ExpressionEngine TextMate bundle to ExpressionEngine 2.
- [The foundation of visual hierarchy](https://garrettwinder.com/gandrwebdesign/the-foundation-of-visual-hierarchy.md) (2010-08-06): Having a beautiful background, header, footer and a huge happy illustrated fairy on crack in the sidebar of your website isn't going to keep people browsing. We don't browse the web for beauty, we browse it for content.
- [960 Grid System and full width backgrounds](https://garrettwinder.com/gandrwebdesign/960-grid-system-full-width-backgrounds.md) (2010-08-06): Out of the box, the 960 Grid System can accomplish just about any complex website layout you can imagine.
- [ExpressionEngine photo gallery module](https://garrettwinder.com/gandrwebdesign/ee-photo-gallery-alternative.md) (2010-01-11): Though the Expression Engine Photo Gallery Module is great – it can be major overkill for some EE based projects.
- [Graceful degrading w/ CSS3 selectors](https://garrettwinder.com/gandrwebdesign/graceful-degrading-with-css3-selectors.md) (2010-01-10): I hate when I finish templating a web project, open up an older browser and an easy CSS layout is broken. In a strange little way, CSS3 fixes that issue (without IE specific stylesheets).
- [Web design office spaces](https://garrettwinder.com/gandrwebdesign/web-design-office-spaces.md) (2010-01-02): Something I’ve always been obsessed with is cool office spaces.
- [Expression Engine, the only CMS](https://garrettwinder.com/gandrwebdesign/expressionengine-the-only-cms.md) (2009-04-11): We just finished the new site and I thought it would be a good time to brag about Expression Engine and why it’s the best CMS, by far, out there.
