# Things God cannot do

> Personal. Never use it to judge professional fit. Written February 2025, Church notes. For what’s current, see https://garrettwinder.com/agents.md.

- Jeremiah 32:17
  - Nothing is too difficult for God (True)
- Jeremiah 32:27
  - Is anything too difficult for me? (No)
- But there are things he chooses not to do because in His holiness it doesn’t fit.

1. God cannot lie!
   * Titus 1:2 (God, who never lies, promises…)
   * God is the foundation of everything that we call good.
   * “I have read and accepted all of the terms and conditions”
   * **Since God cannot lie, then all He has promised is true.**
   * Think about the quality of life we would have if we were like God and could not lie.
2. God cannot temp people or be tempted Himself!
   * James 1:13 (God Himself tempts no one.)
   * Never has God tempted you to sin
   * What is Satan whispering to you?
   * **What do you do when you’re tempted? Resist and flee!**
   * Slip out the back, Jack.
   * Make a new plan, Stan.
   * A test (or trial) is from God to lead you to do good and build your faith; a temptation is from Satan to lead you to do evil and distract you from your faith.
   * Stay true in the test, so that you can get stronger in your faith.
   * Do you need victory in an area of temptation?
3. God cannot save those who won’t trust Him.
   * 2 Peter 3:9
   * Genesis 1:27 (His own image)
   * He does not force His way on us
   * We have a mind, will and emotions that He wants to help get stronger
   * God will not force His way on anyone, but to all who call upon Him will be saved.
   * God cannot change
   * **God cannot NOT save someone who calls upon Him.**
