- Someone to deliver us from the pain and suffering of this world.
- Our natural response is escape.
- Natural for us to aspire to be like our hero’s.
- We begin to place messianic expectations on people in our life (oops).
- No human being can live up to messianic expectations.
- Side note: Holy Spirit authors all of the Bible through the scribes of the Bible.
- Isaiah 9:6
- Jesus is “Mighty God”
- Devine warrior and savior
- He’s not weak he’s meek
- Because Jesus is mighty, he can do for us what we cannot do for ourselves.

- If we don’t, we are on the hook for the bill.
- Jesus is God
- Mark 2:8-10

- Jesus is an “Everlasting Father”
- John 1:1,4
- Jesus is eternal (this is a specific belief of Christian’s, and the only way to be saved is to believe this).
- Everlasting Father: protector, provider, source of life.
- Circumstances do not have anything to do with the truth of the above.
- Jesus is the true Messiah
- BTW Isaiah was written 700 years before Jesus was born.
- Jesus said “today is the day this happened”
