I am slowly transferring my sermon notes to this webpage to make them more accessible.
God given hope
Walking down a dark street or parking garage and get the feeling like someone is looking at you.
Our brain has something called the “gaze detection”. Next time you feel like someone is watching you, they probably are.
We are also designed to comprehend the spiritual. He doesn’t just want us to feel and understand the natural, but also the supernatural.
We get this from meditating on His goodness and His word. THIS CHANGES US. God desires to change us.
- Ephesians 1:16-17
- Saying yes to Jesus is the starting line, not the finish line.
- It’s the start of the molding and shaping.
- We have the ability to listen to the Holy Spirit, which gives us wisdom and revelation.
- “Holy Spirit, speak to me.”
- Blessings from God:
- Our hope: confidence in the goodness of God.
- Having the eyes of your hearts enlightened: mind, will, emotions - not organ.
- We have to have the ability to hold on to the promises of God to keep hope.
- Exodus 6:6
- His inheritance: He thinks about us individually, yearning for the day to be with us face to face
- Our power: Jesus’ power is far above and greater than anything and everything (in all universes and realms). This power is within us.
- Promises from God:
- I am SAVED: I am part of God’s family.
- I am FREE: I don’t have to be a slave to sin.
- I am REDEEMED: I have a purpose.
- I BELONG to God: I can make a difference.
- He will keep to his promises.
- Nothing can change these promises.
- He WILL see these through.
- Our job is to BELIEVE in them.
The enemy wants to make our life on earth a living hell. We have the power to overcome and defeat. I’m saved, I’m free, I’m delivered.
